One of the most enjoyable privileges of having a successful online business is that you finally get to travel and especially to dive those pristine out-of-the-way waters you always dreamed about. Since I have been providing the Platinum Control Panel from Veretekk to my subscribers I have really begun to have the financial freedom I was missing before. Although I am already spoiled by having close access to the Florida Keys and the nearby Bahamas Bank, with their clear and comfortable waters and more than beautiful diving locations, it is getting harder and harder to locate those places off the beaten path where the coral and fish life are unaffected by the growing intrusion of pleasure craft and growing number of long range fish hunters. So when we were able to take a trip to the Double Headed Shot Keys off the Cay Sal Bank we found those unspoiled throwbacks to the time when the proliferation of marine life was immensely staggering. The radiant colors and myriad variations of reef life delighted the senses with never to be forgotten vistas at every depth and habitat. It is one of those places from which there should never really be a return.
Your experiences are so enriched by sight, sound and feeling that even our brief stay in this area afforded us with a lifetime of delight. In places like these, the local denizens are relatively much less agitated by your presence and you can interact with them up close and personal. Even the 'cuda don't hardly turn the color of warning! Since this area is well up on the shoal, the pelagic types are not often seen, althought the requiem sharks will always pay you a visit, but less often, since the disturbances among the reef fish are milder and the sharks lateral line doesn't receive many impressions. The depth of the water being from about twenty to forty feet permits extended diving times in comfortable temperatures, the thermocline often extending to the bottom in shallower places. It is not unusual to see the nether side of ledges packed with lobsters, although their venturings are more often at night. You can coax them out with a "tickler stick" if your appetite is fixed on their luscious and tender tails. You will often also see the Strawberry Groupers which average about five pounds and just melt in your mouth after a little singeing in the onboard skillet.
Truly the variety of delectable reef morsels is huge, and the ecosystem here is not offended by your local consumption. At nightfall you begin to take in a sky of Biblical proportions where the pristine atmosphere unveils layers of stars rarely seen in other climes. If you are adventurous you can put out a light to attract the flying fish which are also great eating, if you remember not get too near the runway zone and get smacked. Then after dark get ready for the luminescent light shows when currents and night visitors light up the water with glowing incandesecence. You might also be treated to another show since, well, you are in the Devil's Triangle, and things do go bump in the night, but, hey, that's part of the of the mystique you can only experience in places like these.
I could go on and on, but sadly our time flew by and we had to jump back across the deep blue irridescence where the Gulf Stream collides, but never mixes, with the inshore counter current. We are almost ok, until the bump of the dock reverts us back to landlubbers again, and the memories again become the nascent dreams of next time. Nevertheless, we take comfort in knowing that there will be a next time since the interest in the Platinum Control Panel is generating a lasting income for the many of us who have turned to non-traditional income sources which the Internet provides.
